More than 104,000 fans of Arabic music thronged La Mer, the beachfront destination, to watch their favourite stars performing at a series of concerts that were held in Dubai, as part of the citywide events and activities organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) in celebration of UAE’s 48th National Day.
The free-to-attend concerts saw Emirati singer Eida Al Menhali in action at La Mer on 29 November, followed by compatriot Balqees and Kuwaiti icon Essa Al Marzouq performing at the same venue on 1 December. Then, on National Day on 2 December, celebrity singer Hussain Al Jassmi captivated music fans by belting out a repertoire of his hits at La Mer. The concerts at La Mer were organised in collaboration with DFRE’s Strategic Partner, Meraas.
A special National Day treat was also served at the Global Village where the spotlight fell on Emirati singer Hamad Al Amri who performed on 2 December at the multicultural festival park. There is still one more concert to be enjoyed by music fans, as local hero Mohamed Al Shehhi will take centre-stage on 6 December at Al Seef, the popular waterfront promenade.
