Start-up incubator highlighted AI capacity-building and entrepreneurship during key tech event in Dubai.
in5, the region’s leading start-up and entrepreneurship incubator, empowered innovators and spotlighted the critical role of capacity-building in artificial intelligence (AI) as a Strategic Partner of the Dubai AI Festival, held in April at Madinat Jumeirah.
Established by TECOM Group PJSC in 2013, in5 provided a dynamic platform to accelerate entrepreneurship across four dedicated verticals: tech, media, design, and science. Aligned with its mission to harness the transformative power of AI, in5 offered networking and educational opportunities throughout the Dubai AI Festival.
“Nurturing a thriving tech ecosystem was crucial to unlocking exponential economic growth,” said Majed Al Suwaidi, Senior Vice President at TECOM Group PJSC, on behalf of in5. “Our Strategic Partnership with Dubai AI Festival aimed to solidify Dubai’s leadership in the digital economy, and we remained committed to empowering the next generation of AI experts, innovators, and technologists, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’ and the UAE Digital Economy Strategy.”
At the festival, in5 showcased some of the region’s standout innovators and entrepreneurs who successfully scaled their businesses within its ecosystem, including KinesteX, an AI-powered fitness trainer, and Viewit, a PropTech start-up specializing in video listings.
Supporting Start-up Success
To further boost entrepreneurial success, in5 hosted a five-day bootcamp titled “Build Your AI Team in5 Days.” Held in April at in5 Tech, the program helped entrepreneurs scale their businesses by leveraging AI for tasks such as building automated teams and creating intelligent data dashboards to enable smarter decision-making. The bootcamp, led by Jen Blandos, Founder of Female Fusion, was free to attend and promoted through in5’s official Instagram channel, @in5Dubai.
Academic hackathon connected students with real-world challenges in key industries
In the lead-up to the Dubai AI Festival, in5 organized an academic hackathon at in5 Tech in Dubai Internet City. Conducted alongside start-ups ABCurr Entrepreneurial Institute and Pupilar, the hackathon invited students from UAE-based universities to deliver real-world AI solutions across three key sectors: Mobility, PropTech, and Healthcare & Life Sciences. Winning teams from the hackathon competed for cash prizes at the festival, with in5 providing support for the awards.
