A select group of industry professionals attended the Living Office Awards ceremony held at Herman Miller’s showroom at Marina Plaza in Dubai to celebrate the winners of the inaugural awards gala and connect with industry peers.
In response to the changing nature of the workplace, Herman Miller launched the Living Office Awards to increase awareness of the value of good workspace design as a tool for businesses to realise their organisational goals.
“The design of workspace has entered a new phase. Beyond just simple planning, designers are now part curators, scientists, and psychologists too, all carrying a high degree of understanding in the realms of business strategy, workflow and organisational design,” explained Neale Vanstone, VP, EMEAHerman Miller International.
Amongst the shortlisted entries were a number of outstanding submissions from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Mozambique, South Africa, and other countries from the MENA region. The panel of judges evaluated each entry against criteria that included a sense of belonging, supporting collaboration, environmental responsibility and creating a health positive working environment.
The winner of the Commercial Business Workspace Design award was DWP, Smart Dubai Office, whilst the People’s Choice Award went to Fiona Hardie ID, The Executive Centre – One Central.
