Royal Ahrend, an international leader in office furniture, and Massa Design, have joined forces to create a state-of-the-art healthcare innovation and inspiration studio in the heart of the Dubai Design District (D3).
The studio has been designed to enable healthcare providers to experience and see; a fully functional interior environment that meets all the demanding healthcare requirements and regulations; an innovative and timeless space complying with wellbeing design principles; healthcare design-oriented solutions that meet today’s patient’s demands; and the latest equipment and sustainable materials.
“Our aim was to create a space that is warm, welcoming, and comfortable for patients and caregivers, as well as being functional and compliant with healthcare regulations,” says Mr Karim Khemakhem, Managing Director, Massa Design. “The design utilises curved corners, creating a smooth transition of surfaces and a selection of materials with anti-microbial properties.”
Showcasing around 20 different healthcare equipment and material suppliers, the studio encompasses a waiting area, separate meeting room, and doctor’s office. It also incorporates a fully-fitted patient room with caregiver zone.
Speaking on the new venture, Khadija Al Bastaki, Executive Director of D3, concluded: “We are delighted that so many of our business partners have collaborated to offer something so unique to the design community. The launch testifies to the growth of the design industry and demonstrates that design can be implemented in many diverse fields for the benefit of all.”
