In line with its commitment to play a key role in the move to advance Dubai’s leadership in global trade and e-commerce, Dubai South has highlighted the latest developments in the Middle East’s rapidly growing e-commerce sector at the e-commerce Expo in Olympia, London. During its presence at the show, Dubai South promoted the Logistics District and its recently launched fully dedicated e-commerce free zone, EZDubai, including its capabilities and key features. The UK’s largest e-commerce event, it attracted more than 12,000 delegates and over 200 companies from across the country.
Recent market reports have shown rapid growth of e-commerce in the Middle East and North Africa valued to reach up to USD24 billion by 2022, the region’s e-commerce trade has soared by 1500% for the last 10 years, with UAE leading the industry by maintaining 50% in terms of e-commerce sales. The growth is further spurred by new shopping habits and changing lifestyles coupled with easy access to mobile and smart technologies.
