Dubai Municipality has prepared and drafted indicative contract forms for engineering consultancy and building contracting services. These include all technical standards and clauses related to all parties’ obligations and responsibilities, clearly and precisely, to guide them when concluding contracts for private villa projects, as these contracts are indicative and not mandatory. The contracting parties have the right to amend it according to what is agreed upon between them.
These indicative contract forms are provided through the Municipality website www.dm.gov.ae, with the aim of enabling all parties to be guided by them when concluding contracts for private villa projects in order to achieve the public interest.
Preparation of these indicative contracts comes from Dubai Municipality’s keenness to make its customers happy and improve the work environment in the construction sector in the emirate of Dubai, supporting the sustainable development efforts in this field.
The Municipality believes it is important to strengthen and organise contractual relations between owners, consultants and contractors, to implement and complete private villa projects without obstacles and to limit contractual, financial and legal disputes that lead to delay in the progress of work and failure to complete projects within the specified time, to preserve the rights of all parties.
This step falls within the Municipality’s efforts towards ensuring the smooth and accurate running of contractual processes in the construction sector, which reinforces the Municipality’s vision of building a happy and sustainable city, and its mission of planning, developing and managing an excellent city that provides the essence of success and sustainable living.
