For the past decade, we’ve been passionately dedicated to delivering construction quality and handover support services, empowering project teams, and helping organisations thrive in the fast-paced world of construction and manufacturing.
Our journey began with the entrepreneurial vision of our founder, Allison Wicks. After working with numerous construction companies across the UK and the Middle East, she noticed a recurring challenge: although many organisations had some form of a quality system in place, they still struggled to meet the required quality and handover standards. High levels of defects, financial drains, waste, and client complaints persisted. Project teams often lacked the practical training needed to effectively use these quality systems in their roles. This realisation led to the creation of Qualitaz, with a mission to bridge these gaps and elevate industry standards.
Our objective is to enable project teams to be fully informed, involved, and part of the solution to raising and delivering quality standards.
When do clients typically seek your help, and how do you address their challenges?
Many of our clients reach out to us during critical situations — whether they need urgent troubleshooting, are dealing with financial drains and bottlenecks, or have chosen an unsuitable contractor. We step in to conduct a thorough quality gap analysis to pinpoint the root causes of their issues. From there, we create a customised plan to address these challenges, which might involve additional training, revising practices, integrating with their team to manage requirements, or offering targeted guidance.
How do you describe your approach?
Personally, I like to think of our approach as being there when you need us most, even if it’s not always what you want. When the time comes that you feel confident and capable without us, that’s when we know our job is done, and it’s time for us to step back. We ensure the situation is resolved efficiently and empower teams to manage their responsibilities independently after we’ve gone. Of course, we’re always available for regular check-ins to make sure everything stays on track.
What are your greatest achievements over the last 10 years?
Looking back over the past decade, we’re incredibly proud of our work on a wide range of projects. One that stands out involved turning around a situation where a major developer was on the verge of terminating a contractor; our intervention led to a successful outcome. We also played a pivotal role in the Museum of the Future, assisting the façade contractor in implementing a bespoke quality system for groundbreaking cladding technology—the first of its kind globally. Our contributions to the F1 Abu Dhabi project, Cleveland Clinic, and our work with homeowners during their construction projects have been equally rewarding. We’ve helped developers and contractors refine their practices and handover procedures, significantly reducing defects and client complaints. Additionally, we’ve resolved issues between developers and end users, ensuring smooth handovers and witnessing the transformation and unification of project teams.
