Dubai Municipality has announced the start of receiving applications for the 12th edition of the Dubai International Award for Best Practices in Sustainable Development, which aims to recognise outstanding achievements in the field of sustainable development.
Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said: “Dubai Municipality is always keen on encouraging, motivating and supporting innovative practices, which aim primarily to promote the standards of development and progress and raise the quality of human life.”
The award is organised every two years and includes five categories, the Best Practices in Urban Regeneration and Public Spaces; the Best Practices in Construction of Sustainable, Innovative and Smart Buildings; the Best Practices in Sustaining Urban Food Systems; the Best Practices in Addressing Climate Change and Reducing Pollution; and the Best Practices in Urban Infrastructure Planning and Management.
It is worth mentioning that the award, which has total prize money of one million US dollars for all five categories together, has created a website in its name and set the last day for submission of applications as 30 June 2020.
